From December 3 through December 7, the Waiting List for Housing Choice Vouchers will be open to new applicants. Applications may be submitted from 8AM on Monday, December 3, through midnight on Friday, December 7, 2018. In New Castle County, an individual’s income must be less than $30,600, and the income of a family of four must be less than $43,700, in order to qualify. Income may be estimated for the application, and will be verified after selection. Applications must be submitted online at the NCCHA Waiting List Portal. One application will be accepted per person. The application portal works on desktop and mobile devices, and provides a step-by-step process for submitting your information. To complete the process, your Social Security Number and a valid, working email address will be required. If you do not have an email address, the portal will offer links through which you may set one up. If you do not have access to the internet, computers and assistance with the process will be available at your local County Library. No applications will be accepted or assisted in-person at New Castle County Housing Authority without prior approval. Disabled applicants may request assistance completing the application in our office as a special accommodation by contacting Erin Coleman at 302-395-5697. 500 applicants will be selected at random in a digital lottery. Selected applicants will be contacted by postal mail. All applicants can log back into the portal after January 2 to check whether they were selected.
